I fell in love with Jenan's beautiful floral pieces and knew that I wanted to add one of her pieces to our home. It would be our first piece of artwork, and the experience of working with Jenan was wonderful. She asked very thoughtful questions to create a piece that would invoke the special meaning I was hoping for. It is one of the most beautiful things in our home.

I see a tapestry of a person's life. The highs, the lows, the magic, the hard. All of it. Your art (and the title of the piece) is something I'd like to greet me every morning in my room. It's gorgeous and full of hope which is what I'm seeking most.

It's a lovely painting I'm not sure if it's intentional, but we think the beautiful mountains of color slightly resemble flowers. So, I hope you don't mind but we've changed the name to "Charlotte's Flowers." We'll cherish this piece forever.

When we learned were were having a baby we went and bought a new house. We move in at the end of June and while we won't be moving in with a newborn like we'd planned, I just want you to know Charlotte's Flowers will be the first thing we take in.

For me, I have always been enamored by Alice Walker's line from The Color Purple:

"I think it pisses God off if you walk by by the color purple in a field somewhere and don't notice it. People think pleasing God is all God cares about. But any fool living in the world can see it always trying to please us back."

On your canvas, you created that purple in the world just trying to please us. Whether the forms conjured in your work are redolent of flowers of other imaginative moments, its colors and movement just capture joy and breathe life into that quote.
